Time Berners-Lee is the man who invented the World Wide Web which is used by

million every day to find out information. Through its links, people share ideas, make

friends and learn to understand others. What do we know about this man whom

changed the way we communicate? According to his website, he is born in

London and, as a boy, he liked model railways best than sport. As he grew up, he

became very interested in computers. He built her first computer using parts from

an old TV set. When he left school, he studies Physics at Oxford University.

Later, when he was working in Switzerland, he realised that searching in most

information were very slow because different computers used different

programs. He wanted to working on ways of bringing everything together in a giant,

linked web. This would be available to anyone, anywhere, at any time, freely of charge.

He thought of calling it Enquire but later he decided that the World Wide Web was better.
