Have you heard about ‘forest bathing’? It means spending time in a forest

or wooded area to improve your health. Studies suggest that do this for two

hours lowers stress and increases concentrations. Trees also release chemicals

and this helps our immune system. Forest bathing is different than a walk

because you really focus for the natural world around you. You should experience

them through multiple senses so try smelling flowers, listening to birds and

touching leaves. It is a good idea to pick a quiet time of day. There will probable

be fewer people in the early morning. Last year, when I find it difficult to switch

off and couldn’t stop think about everything I needed to do, I decided to take up

forest bathing. I quickly discovered beautiful places to explore where I hadn’t

been aware of previously. I was pleased when I realised there was at least three

near my house! I recommend forest bathing to anyone looking for a calmer life.
